Sesame Almond Broccoli

We have another installment in the category that shall henceforth be called Fast and Fabulous. This is a vegetable side dish that is once again ready in about 15 minutes. With food this fast there is just no excuse not to eat healthy. Broccoli is a beloved vegetable in our house. Both kids will eat it, my picky eater with very little cajoling. Today it has a bit of an asian twist with copious amounts of garlic, some chili flakes, crunchy almonds, and sesame oil to finish it off. So simple, and fabulously delicious.

Sesame Almond Broccoli
1 lb +/- broccoli, cut into fleurettes
1 tablespoons olive oil
6 cloves of garlic, diced
1/2- 1 teaspoon chili flakes
1 tablespoon water or apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup blanched almonds
1-2 tablespoons toasted sesame oil
salt to taste
Wash and trim the broccoli. Cut it into bite size pieces. Peel the stalk and use it too! Heat oil on medium low and saute the chili flakes and garlic for two minutes. Add the broccoli and stir to coat with oil. Add a splash of water/ apple cider vinegar and cover to steam until soft. Stir in the almonds and sesame oil. Salt to taste.
