Guess what? I’m not pregnant anymore! You know what that means? That I can finally enjoy my beloved wine. Baby V is 3 weeks old, I am feeling recovered from her birth, and I am basking in this perfect new baby. She’s so sweet and the transition from 2-3 kids has been pretty darn effortless. So far. Knock on wood. To celebrate I used the last of our summer berries to make a white wine sangria which Stephen and I enjoyed on our deck mid day. It was luxurious.
You can make Sangria out of any fruit and wine. I used a large mason jar and filled the bottom 1/4 with diced berries and half a lemon. I poured in a bottle of local sauvignon blanc. Refrigerate overnight and viola, refreshing white wine sangria. Perfect with some salty cheese and great conversation. I can’t begin to tell you how happy I am to be able to drink again.
The fruit is good for another go round too, so once you finish your sangria, add another bottle to the jar and let it go overnight again. Viola, tasty Sangria part 2.
